Wines To Find EP 1: What Is Your Wine Story?

On the first episode, hosts Sandy and Michelle introduce listeners to the concept of Wines to Find and tell their own personal wine stories.

Wines tasted are a 2017 Martin Ray Pinot Noir ($15.99), and a 2017 Daou Cabernet Sauvignon ($22.99).

2017 Martin Ray Pinot Noir wine notes: Fresh pomegranate, strawberry, ripe Bing cherry with notes of sarsaparilla. Tart cranberry carries throughout with a touch of mace and silky refined tannins. Rated 93 Points by James Suckling. WTF RATINGS: Sandy rated the wine 4 corks, Michelle rated at 3.5 corks.

2017 Daou Cabernet Sauvignon wine notes: This Cabernet Sauvignon reflects the true character of the 2017 vintage. It is a full-bodied wine that is highly concentrated yet still offers aromas of chocolate, plum, black fruit and hints of a cigar box. Reflecting the beauty of the vintage, the combination of flesh and fat make this wine rich and voluptuous. Rated 94-96+ by Jeb Dunnuck. WTF RATINGS: Sandy and Michelle both rated at 5 corks.

During Sandy’s wine story, several books were noted.

They are: The Global Encyclopedia of Wine, Food & Wine Magazine’s Quick From Scratch one-dish meals cookbook, Food & Wine Magazines Quick From Scratch pasta cookbook, and Food & Wine Magazine’s Quick From Scratch herbs and spices cookbook.

At the end of the show, Michelle’s Crush of the Week: “Wine People” hats.
